FUJITA SHORT RAM AIR INTAKE HONDA S2000 06+ - ca-1925

A traditional underhood intake, also known as a Short Ram Intake, usually follows the same path as the stock intake system. There are some distinct differences between the stock intake and the Fujita Air Short Ram. A few of these differences include replacing the factory intake plenum with an aluminum plenum, eliminating resonators, air box, drop in filter, and replacing it with an open filter element. These key differences allow the vehicle to bring in more air into the intake chamber and create more horsepower and torque. Vacuum and in some cases air mass sensors, are still maintained and incorporated into the Fujita Short Ram Intake. Since a vehicle is constantly moving (except during traffic or at a light) heat soak will be of little issue since the car will constantly be bringing in fresh air. In addition, studies have shown that the material used to build the intake system has shown no loss of horsepower due to an intake being rubber, aluminum, ceramic coated, anodized, etc.

This gap will allow air that could be cooling to escape over the top of the radiator. The radiator cooling plate eliminates this problem by directing the air through the radiator, rather than over. By increasing the air passing through the radiator, coolant temperatures are kept down on track runs as well as continuous high speed drives, which helps to prevent over-heating. AEM’s V2 intake systems use a patented dual chamber design to produce the most power and torque of any other intake system available—even our own Cold Air systems. On a dyno graph, the area under the power band (or power curve) represents the amount of effort that an engine is producing. The larger the overall area under the curve, the more power your engine is making. The AEM V2 utilizes a dual chamber (using two different diameters and lengths of piping) that creates multiple frequency sound waves to produce the largest area under the curve of any intake system on the market. These sound waves help charge the cylinders with more air throughout the entire rpm range and are what enables the V2 to outperform even our own Cold Air systems.
